Singapore Prawn Noodle Restaurant Calls Out Diner for Washing Hands at Table With Mineral Water

A Singapore prawn noodle restaurant shared CCTV footage of a diner washing his hands at the table with bottled mineral water, reminding customers that a wash basin is available on the premises.

A Singapore prawn noodle restaurant has called out a customer for washing his hands at the dining table with a bottle of mineral water. The restaurant is DK Signatures by Deanna’s Kitchen. CCTV footage shows the customer pouring water over his hands while seated. The water ran straight onto the floor.

The restaurant shared the CCTV footage on its Instagram account, @deannaskitchensg. The post was a public reminder to diners. It pointed customers to the handwashing facilities on the premises.

A wash basin was just behind the customer’s seat. He only needed to take a few steps to reach it. The restaurant also has a toilet at the back of the premises.

The owners of Deanna’s Kitchen said washing hands over the floor creates unhygienic conditions. Dirty water on the floor affects the cleanliness of the dining area. Other diners share that space.

Wet floors are also a slipping hazard, according to the restaurant. The risk applies to both diners and staff. Staff are also left to clean up the spilled water.

The prawn noodle restaurant asked customers to use the wash basin or toilet instead of washing at the table. The request is simple. A few steps keep the dining area clean and safe for everyone.
